Bennie Sindt

Bennie Joe Sindt was born July 10, 1926 near Republican City to Bhrend (Ben) and Louise Ott Sindt. He passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital at the age of 84.

He graduated from Naponee High School. He married Della Artz on October 16, 1949 in Huntley, NE. He was a farmer. He worked at the marina at the Harlan County Dam for many years. He served during WWII in the Army and was stationed in Japan. He loved to play cards, garden and fish.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Della of the home, sons Rex Sindt (Debra), Holdrege, NE; Keith Sindt (Beth), Reinbeck, IA; grandchildren Wes Sindt, Cedar Falls, IA; Bridgette Ohrt (Richard), Orleans, NE; Katie Sindt, Omaha, NE; great grandchildren Taylor and Brody Ohrt, Orleans, NE; nephew Ron Sindt (Chris), Alma, NE; great nieces Sara Sindt, Kearney, NE and Deanna Sindt, Plattsmouth, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey Sindt, brother Don (Joy) Sindt and nephews Tom and Danny Sindt.

Funeral services will be at 10AM, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating. Visitation will be from 9AM to 8PM Friday, February 18, 2011 at Hutchins Funeral Home with family receivng friends from 6-8PM. Burial will be in Naponee Cemetery, Naponee, Nebraska. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted be Hicks- Siegel American Legion Post #364. The family suggests memorials to the Franklin EMS.
