Doris Ann Dierking

September 11, 1950 — February 13, 2025

Bloomington

Doris Ann Deisley was born September 11, 1950 at Campbell, NE to Louis Samuel Deisley and Alice Lydia Marie (Schmidt) Deisley. Early on they moved to Bloomington, NE. Doris attended school at Bloomington and graduated from Franklin in 1968. You could see them going to school in that old black Rambler, she didn’t need a hot rod. After graduation, Doris worked several places including 28 years in the beauty shop her dad built for her, the Lincoln Hotel, the grain elevator, the famous Lamplighter Inn, and lastly the farm. All tough jobs but she got through them.

On June 22, 1975, Doris and Neilie married Jerry Dierking at Grace Lutheran Church. The day Neilie was born was the first day of the Franklin County Fair in 1974. Doris’s dad was standing on one side of the bed and said Neilie looks like him and Doris’s mom was standing on the other side of the bed and said Neilie looks like her. Her dad remarked “who would want to look like that”. It doesn’t matter who she looked like; she grew into a beautiful young lady. Ashley was as long as Riggon but not quite as heavy. He was a tall cowboy in the making. And then there is Jillian. She is her grandpa’s spinoff. Grandpa caught all three kids smoking in his red pickup. They were taking cigarettes out of the ashtray and smoking them. The two older ones were pretty green but not Jill. So, they got punished and dear old Jill got the last word just like Louis. She told Grandpa she wanted another one.

Doris retired in September 1997 to take a dream job of caring for 2-day old Brooklyn until she was 3 ½ years old. What an exciting job for a 47-year-old lady. Each day was special, especially rubbing her feet every time they sat down.

The last job Doris had was delivering groceries to 10 special little ladies with their smiles and stories. Each had a special heart. Doris’s most rewarding hobby was putting kids, friends, and neighbors back in their pants. She needed patches, zippers, and buttons.

After taking care of Jerry for two years, it was her turn. Doris met the most amazing staff at Arbor Care Nursing Home. A few she could even take home with her.

Doris is survived by daughter Neilie (Gene) Fritz, son Ashley Dierking, and daughter Jillian (Jay) Morrill. Doris’s grandchildren are Loren (Madisyn) Hoskins, Ella (Bryce) Hoskins, Austin (Eli) Dierking, Trevor Dierking, Brooklyn (Jeremy) Morrill, Albert Jay Morrill, and Chloe Morrill. Doris’s great grandchildren are Cole, Riggon, and another grandson expected in April.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Alice Deisley and her husband Jerry Dierking.

Doris’ wish was for direct cremation. The family has planned a memorial service and invite you to attend on Friday, February 28, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at the Franklin County Fair Grounds Ag. Center. Family inurnment will take place at a later date. Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting the Dierking family with these arrangements.
