Ellis Harvey

Ellis (Bud) Harvey of Riverton, Nebraska, succumbed to esophageal cancer on Friday, February 7, 2020. Bud was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 4, 1952 to Paul and Dorothy (Schwab) Harvey. Bud was preceded in death by his father, Paul Harvey, his mother Dorothy (Schwab) Cowell, and great niece Rebekah Scharfenberg; his grandparents and all of his aunts and uncles.

Bud is survived by his sisters Teri Batts, Union, MO, Paula Dmyterko, Sioux Falls, SD, and Jeannine Harvey, Omaha, NE; one brother Paul Douglas Harvey and his wife Barb, Underwood, IA, nieces Robin, Renee, Regina, Cindy, Jennifer, April, Katie; nephews, Roy, Ronny, Randy, Mike, Dylan, Jackson, Kevin, Tim; and 19 grand nieces and nephews. Bud’s family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the Doctors, Nurses and caring Staff at Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings, Nebraska; the caring Staff at Mary Lanning Hospital and the Compassionate care of Mary Lanning Hospice.

In accordance with his wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date, with inurnment of his cremated remains in Iowa. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Hospital or your favorite charity.

Bud lived his life as a kind and caring son, brother, uncle and friend. We shall surely grieve his passing, but rejoice in the hope of his everlasting life.
