Geraldine Haussermann

Geraldine Haussermann , 86 years of age, of Franklin passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Franklin, Nebraska. She was born one of two children on February 17, 1926 on the farm near Wilcox, Nebraska to Louis G. and Lillie M. (Harms) Reese. Geraldine was baptized March 7, 1926 and confirmed at the Ragan Evangelical Swedish Lutheran Church in 1942.

She attended country school at Poole and Wilcox, Nebraska and high school at Ragan.

She married Wilber Edward Schriner, Febuary 10, 1943 at the Lutheran Church parsonage in Ragan. They lived at Riverton until 1955. They moved to Franklin in 1959. She worked as a housewife and mother from 1960 to 1980 and as a clerk in the Ben Franklin Store.

Geraldine's hobbies included knitting, crocheting, painting and quilt making. Most of her creations were given to family and friends. She was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the crafty quilter's guild.

After Wilber passed away Geraldine married Alvin Haussermann on June 4, 1983 at the Republican City Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Wilber Schriner, September 26, 1973 and Alvin Haussermann, April 25, 2011, and daughter, Linda Hauver, July 9, 2010; step father, Jess Rolland; grandson, Colt Bartels and great grandson, Austin Rupke.

Geraldine is survived by her son Edward Schriner (Doris) of Holdrege, Nebraska, daughter, Bonnie Flesner (Roger) of Franklin, Nebraska; grand children, Brenda Rupke (Arlo) of Stockton, Missouri, Glenda Manser of Naponee, Nebrasksa, Edward E. Schriner, Jr., Steven Schriner both of Kearney, Nebraska, Richard Hauver of Alma, Nebraska, Lesley Platt (Roger Max) of Minden, Nebraska, Brian R. Flesner (Stacy) of Seward, Nebraska and Christina Bartels of Lincoln, Nebraska; 3 step children, 9 step grand children, 11 great grand children, 16 step great grand children; brother, Gilbert Reese of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with family greeting friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Hutchins Funeral Home in Franklin, Nebraska.

Services: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, Nebraska with Rev. Nancy Leonard officiating.

Burial: Following the service at the Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska.

Memorial: Family Choice.
