Kenneth Almond (Kenny) Hudson passed away suddenly Sunday, June 23, 2024 at his home at the age of 68 years. Kenny was born September 12th, 1955, the third child of Loyal Kenneth Hudson and Evelyn Marie Johnson in Smith County, Kansas. He attended a one room country school thru 4th grade, transferring to Kensington and graduating from West Smith County High School in Kensington with the Class of 1973.
Following graduation, Kenny joined the work force, He farmed and ranched, and drove a truck for local trucking companies and local farmers. His current job was for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Franklin area. Kenny enjoyed his co-workers near and far and all encounters through the post office.
Kenny never met a stranger and will be missed by a huge host of family and friends. He lived in the Smith County and Franklin County area all his life. He enjoyed pheasant hunting with his nephews Jason, Todd and Dakota and picking on his nieces, Donna, Emily and Darrian. Kenny was passionate about roping with his friends and playing a good card game on Tuesday nights with his buddies. Win or lose at cards, he enjoyed the fellowship. His outgoing personality and love for life will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
Kenny will be forever remembered by two sisters, Joyce Lammers, Red Cloud, NE and Bonnie (Daryl) Slavik and two brothers, Tommy Hudson and Kent (Colleen) Hudson all of Kensington, KS; Marsha Worley (longtime friend), Franklin; nephews, Jason Lammers, Todd (Amy) Slavik, and Matthew Hudson; nieces, Donna Lammers Riggs, Emily (Scott) Lane, Grace Hudson, Darrian (Aaron) Gibble, Raliegh Elliott-Lammers, Dakota Riggs; Toree & Evan Slavik, Abbey, McKenna and Kady Lane; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Kenny’s Life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kenny Hudson Memorial to be designated later.
