Lela M. Frerichs

Lela Marie Frerichs was born on February 8^th, 1937 to Alfred and Anna (Mazel) Juranek. She departed this life Sunday evening, August 14^th, 2022 peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Arbor Care Center, Franklin, Nebraska.

Lela grew up on a farm north of Campbell, Nebraska and graduated from Campbell High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Clyde Frerichs on March 3, 1957 at the Presbyterian Church in Campbell. To this union two daughters and one son were born: Deb, Kathy and Brian.

Lela worked on the farm in the Macon, Nebraska area alongside her husband. In 1994 they moved into the Franklin community. She was known for her gardening and flowers. She loved to bake, cook and play cards. She and Clyde helped start the Prairie Squares square dance club. She worked at the Franklin Senior Center for ten years. It was a special place for both her and Clyde.  Lela enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Macon which she joined when she married Clyde.

Lela will be forever remembered by her husband Clyde Frerichs, Franklin, NE; her daughters Deb (Nick) Zade, Kearney, NE and Kathy (Kelly) James, Riverton, NE; her son Brian (Sherri) Frerichs, Franklin, NE; grandchildren Zack (Melissa) Zade, Lincoln, NE, Karsen (Mike) Duncan, Seward, NE, Bo (Sarah) James, Red Cloud, NE, Simon (Cortney) James, Franklin, NE, Mack (Bailey) James, Franklin, NE, Joshua (Adrianna) Frerichs, Beaver City, NE, and Jacob (Catherine) Frerichs, Hickman, NE; seventeen great grandchildren plus one on the way; one sister Shirley Nielsen, Minden, NE; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers James, LaVern and Dean Juranek; and her sisters Maxine Morgan and Phylis Sorenson.

Family will be greeting friends and family Thursday, Aug. 18^th from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, Aug. 19^th at the Zion American Lutheran Church, Macon, Nebraska with the Reverend Marcia Dorn officiating. She will be laid to rest in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church or the Franklin Senior Center. Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin assisted the Frerichs family with these arrangements.
