Peggy Bislow

Peggy L. Bislow, 92, of Franklin, passed away on November 15, 2011 at the Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Nebraska.

She was born on January 2, 1919 to Harley and Ella (Randall) Fetty at Inavale, Nebraska. She attended school at Franklin High School, graduating in 1935. She moved with her parents to Los Angeles California where she worked for two years at the Telephone Company and then attended City College in Los Angeles for two years. Upon returning to Franklin she attended Kearney State Teacher's College, Kearney, Nebraska earning a Bachelors Degree.

On July 26, 1942 he married Harry Bislow in Downey, California. One month after they were married, Harry left to fight for four years in World War II. To this union one son was born.

Upon Harry's return from the war, they moved to the Franklin area were Harry farmed and Peggy taught school for 30 years.

Peggy was a member of PEO, the Riverview Extention Club, Franklin Teacher's Association, 50 year member of Eastern Star, active life long member of the First United Methodist Church and Martha's Circle.

She enjoyed reading to her grandchildren and the children at the library, teaching Sunday School, quilting and volunteering as a mentor.

Peggy is survived by her son - Randy Bislow (Dianna) of Franklin, Nebraka; two grandsons - Caleb Bislow (Jessica) of Franklin, Nebraska, Chase Bislow of Thailand; granddaughter - Alissa Bislow of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two great-grandsons - Trace Bislow and Asher Bislow; great-granddaughter - Kaiya Bislow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Bislow, November 22, 1990; four sisters, Inez Bucy, Mabel Copley, Ruth Method and Emma Greenhalgh; eight brothers, Homer, Elmer, Roy, Howard, Raymond, Charles and Randall Fetty.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 9:00 am - 8:00 pm at Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska.

Private family graveside services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Nebraska.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Missioinary Church in Franklin with Caleb Bislow officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Kingdom Building Ministries.
