Shirle Franzen

Shirle Anne Franzen was born September 5, 1936 in Gibbon, Nebraska to Thomas Glen and Ruth Marie MacTavish Minor. She passed away from this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Franklin, Nebraska at the age of 73.Shirle was the oldest child of three children of T. Glen and Ruth MacTavish Minor. She lived in Gibbon, NE for one year then moved to Keokuk, IA. She attended school in Keokuk until she was 12, then moved to Norfolk, NE, where she graduated from Norfolk High School in 1954. She married Dale D. Franzen in March 18, 1956 in Wayne, NE where they farmed until 1975 when they moved to Holdrege, NE. She was a homemaker. After their children left the home, Shirle worked for JC Penny's for 8 years. She loved to travel, garden, read, her flowers, and especially loved to cook. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Holdrege, NE. She is survived by her husband, Dale, Holdrege, NE; daughters: Sharon Linday, Huntley, NE; Tami Garner and husband Dan, Grand Island, NE; Pam Meunier and husband Tom, Edmond, OK; grandchildren: Daniel and Allison Meuiner, Edmond, OK; Morgan and Judd Garner, Grand Island, NE; brother Terry Meunier and wife Kay, South Sioux City, NE; sister Sandee Callaghan and husband Pat, Dakota Dunes, SD; numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, and son-in-law Doyle Lindsay.Funeral services will be at a later date. The body was cremated.
